Setting the mood
OK, I’ve decided that in order to build atmosphere at the games, there should be a song that is played 15-20 minutes before the start of the game to get the mood going. Similar to when you go and see Kiss and they play ‘Won’t be fooled again’, drop the banner,the crowd goes wild and Kiss haven’t even taken the stage yet! :
My proposal would be My Morning Jacket’s Victory Dance. It’s got that start that will get the crowd going, has that building excitement and mood, has the words ‘Victory dance’ (very important), and ‘setting sun’ signifying the west of the city. Perfect. Ok, my work here is done. Now I’ll look to examining why we seem to be doing what we can to give Fitzroy a win this afternoon.
On the big board
It was going to be tricky, despite the fact that Gold Coast haven’t won a game this season, they have Ablett & Rischitelli back and Hunt has been firing. It was a great game to watch. Hard hitting from both sides and lots of spirit from all the players.
I read an article in The Age this morning that spoke to players from different sporting codes about their experiences in playing the first year in a new venture. They all spoke about getting the monkey off their back by getting a win on the board and how it could be compared to winning a grand final.
It was hard to watch at times, as every time this year the Giants have put on some great pressure, they have eventually been torn down. But not today. Ramping things up and Kicking all the goals in the last few minutes. I let out a cheer towards the end and was loving the sight of the players getting swept up in the victory, photographers following them down the tunnel as they sang the team song for the first time on the big stage. Great fun.
